Temple of Aaron High Holydays Schedule for 2010/5771

Our synagogue services

We have a variety of religious services to appeal to as broad a range of spiritual tastes and needs as possible within a Conservative Jewish framework. We hope you will experience them and feel free to talk to us about them.

Daily Minyan, the most regular service we offer, meet twice a day to fulfill the three daily services and is led by both our Ritual Coordinator and members of our congregation. 7:30 A.M. (Sunday at 9 A.M.), and 6 P.M. (Saturday depending on sunset)

Erev Shabbat Services at 8 P.M. draw people of all ages. It is a liberal Conservative service, 60% Hebrew with English readings, a sermon and choir music. Transliterations are available.

Early Erev Shabbat Services: At the end of almost every month, the Temple of Aaron holds and early service starting at 6 pm to welcome in the Shabbat with a dinner sometimes following service. This experiment gives those attending an opportunity to attend services right after work, and then either join us for a dinner following service (if available) or go home for a dinner with family and friends. Everyone is invited to attend this relaxed worship environment.

Monthly Erev Shabbat Live: Twice each month (on the second and final Firday night) welcome Shabbat with joyous instrumental music, congregational singing, and traditional prayers. A new, relaxing, informal and fun Shabbat service

Shabbat morning is a modified traditional service, with organ accompaniment. Pseukay D'Zimra (preliminary), Shaharit and the Torah readings are often led by congregants with support by Cantor Kowitz and our Ritual Coordinator. If you are interested in davening or leining from the Torah, please contact Cantor Kowitz.

Young Family, Mishpacha Service for our families with young children, we offer a monthly service where we celebrate children's birthdays, enjoy Torah stories and dance with the Torah.

Birthday Celebrations
We celebrate birthdays on the first Erev Shabbat (Friday) of the month.

Wedding Anniversaries are celebrated 2nd and 4th Erev Shabbat of the month.

Our 5th and 6th graders and 50 teen tutors daven in the chapel Shabbat morning at 9:00. They are learning Shaharit, the blessings before and after the Haftarah, and more. We ask the students to think about what these prayers mean to them. Parents are invited to attend this service with their students.

Learner's Minyan
Two times monthly on Shabbat morning in the Smith library. Learner's Minyan is a low-keyed spiritual opportunity for adults to focus on the structure and meaning of the Shabbat morning service and to learn the melodies. Visit Adult Learning for schedules.

Every Sunday morning during Religious School, our music specialist and Rabbi lead two services for our Kindergarten through 4th graders. Parents are welcome to join at 9:10 or 9:30 for these services.
